Crochet designed by: Sugar Joye
Description:
A 32”x 32” small blanket that makes a great playmat or stroller throw . Two stitches and two yarn colors finished with a slip stitch crochet fringe. This is a relaxing and easy project that works up quickly and makes a great gift!

For the full sized version of this blanket go here: Buttercream Stripes

Materials
- 1 skein Caron One Pound, Acrylic Yarn, Sky Blue
- 1 skein Caron One Pound, Acrylic Yarn, White
- 8mm crochet hook,
- scissors, tapestry needle, measuring tape
NOTE: I really like the looser softer weave that is produced by using a larger hook. It’s also a great way to manage your tension for those who tend to crochet tight.

Single Crochet (SC): Insert your hook, YO and pull up a loop, YO and pull through two loops on hook.

Blanket Pattern
Gauge: 8 stitches per 4” x 8 rows per 4”
Chain 70 or any even number needed for approximately 32“
Color 1
ROWS 1 THROUGH 3: SC in the second chain from the hook, SC into each chain across the row. On 3rd row, pull through with Color 2, cut color 1. CH 1 and turn.
Color 2
ROW 4: Work 1 SC into the 1st stitch, BPSC around the 1st post. Continue working BPSC around each stitch. SC into the last stitch of the row. Pull back through with color 1, cut color 2. Ch 1 and turn.
ROW 5: Repeat Row 1 through 3.
Tip: The first row of SC after the BPSC should be worked into the SC row that is behind the BPSC row. The BPSC is never worked into.
ROW 6: Repeat Row 4 and Row 5 Continue for a total of 80 rows.
For the center stripe, reverse color 1 and color 2 at row 21 and switch back at row 40. There should be 5 rows of BPSC in section 1, 10 rows of BPSC in section 2 and 5 rows of BPSC in section 3.
Tip: Keep in mind that the BPSC rows are all worked on while looking at the non-textured side of the blanket. This blanket is easily sized up or down by increasing or decreasing the repeat section of the pattern.
Tie off and weave in the ends.

Crochet Fringe Border
Stitches
SINGLE CROCHET (SC): Insert your hook, YO and pull up a loop, YO and pull through two loops on hook.
SLIP STITCH (SLST): Insert your hook, YO and pull a loop back through and through loop on hook.

Pattern
For this version of Fun Fringe, I worked and completed the fringe on each of the four edges one at a time.
ROW 1: Pull up a loop and work SC. SC into each space along the row. Chain 1 and turn.
ROW 2: Work a slip stitch into the first space from the hook. Chain 10.
ROW 3: Turn and work a Slip Stitch into each chain. At the base, work a slip stitch into the same space the chain started from. Work a Slip Stitch into the next chain. Weave in ends. Repeat for remaining edges.
